The Vineyard
Vine is a symbol of generosity
Ca' Boffenisio vineyard, rows of splendid vines, hosts 15 hectares of land that, after the two-year period of explanting and replanting plan will increase to 19 hectares of vines. The soils are calcareous clayey marl, giving from one year to another better and better quality grapes and then, vintage wines. Strictly organic certified vinegrowing combined with Boffenisio Valley microclimate and agro-environmental procedures, we produce grapes and wine unrepeatable somewhere else. Vineyeards have been planted in the years 1988-1999 and were then tended directly by the owner, Maria Adele Galanti. The planting system was the so-called espalier/Guyot, and the planting density was 4,200 -5,000- 6,000 vines per hectare, according with their different species.
The choice of clonal selection for the different type of vineyeards was made after a careful analysis of the zonation of the soils, which were particularly suitable for this type of cultivation. Ca' Boffenisio is home to both traditional species of vines (Barbera - Croatina - Pinot Noir - Riesling - Moscato ) and international species of vines (Cabernet Sauvignon - Merlot - Cabernet Franc - Chardonnay - Sauvignon Blanc ), which produce typical wines of the territory as well as blended wines that are unique and matchless, and typical of the Estate. Uniquely original wines that are sure to have their mark. Classic music is accompanying the grape production cycle of our vines. We are playing Mozart in the wintertime, when fogs and snow make so magic all around; Vivaldi in the springtime when Nature awakes, the birds sing, and in our vinyards poppies are growing too. Excellent quality grapes from organic farming and cuddled vines are then harvested according with the ripening curves, by hand in boxes and bunches selection.
The yield is only 40-50 quintals of grape per hectare, because good wine starts on the vine.
